I’ve had the oddest feeling this past week that you need to know something. Yes, you.
Maybe it will be a reminder of something you already know, but need to hear today. Maybe it will be new news. Either way, please just receive this truth:
God is for you.
Maybe you’re in a tough season of life right now, and you’ve wondered, why? Maybe you’ve been filled with lots of questions and doubts. Perhaps you need wisdom. Or direction. Or help.
Maybe your whole world feels like it’s falling apart. Or maybe you feel like it’s just starting to finally fit together.
No matter what’s going on in your life—good or bad—God is for you.
In fact, will you do something right now? Will you say it out loud? Yes, I know this sounds crazy. Humor me. Say it.
Because you need to hear it.
God. Is. For. Me.
Say it again. (I know. I’m being a bit bossy. But in a good way, because I care.)
How do I know God is for you, even if I don’t know you, or your circumstances? Because God said it first.
“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?…37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. “(Romans 8:31-37)
If you want proof God is for you, look no further than the cross.
The cross is God’s way of declaring “Pause. Look. Soak in all in. I gave up my Son for you. All because I love you, and I forgive you, and I am for you.”
Since God didn’t hold back His own Son from dying in your place, for your sins, He’s not about to withhold His unstoppable love, His compassionate care, His unrelenting forgiveness, His infinite wisdom.
God is not against us—even if He must occasionally correct us, or re-direct us. Even in this, God is FOR us.
I don’t know what you’re facing today. But I know this, to the core of my bones:
God. Is. For. You.
Allow this truth to empower you to rise above anything that seeks to defeat you today. Let this truth propel you to be more than a conqueror, in the ways only you and God know you need to be.
You—yes, you—are infinitely loved.
For Further Reflection:
- How does knowing God is for you make you feel?
- If you lived today believing God is for you, how would your actions and attitudes change?
- In what way does God want you to be more than a conqueror in this season of your life?
- For more inspiration, read Romans 8 in it’s entirety. You’ll love it!
I love this … such truth! So profound. And exactly what I needed to hear. These words reach to the depths of my heart, and turn my eyes toward heaven, towards the One who loves and redeems! Thank you, Donna!
