My Main Job–Yours, Too

Sometimes when I speak at retreats God speaks to me louder than to anyone else.

This weekend I enjoyed the gorgeous Indiana fall with some wonderful new girlfriends.  Yet it wasn’t the vivid autumn colors that stirred my soul most, or the powerful worship or the loving women-although those things blessed my socks off, for sure.  It was a simple truth gleaned from a message I’ve given many times before.

It wasn’t even one of my main points. But today the truth God showed me replays over and over in my mind. It’s something so basic, yet I’ve somehow skimmed over in the familiarity of the story found in Luke 1.

Mary, the mother of Jesus, had one main job—to bring Jesus into the world.

That’s my main job, too.

And yours.

So today I’ve been thinking and praying about how I can best bring Jesus into my world.

Maybe it’s something you can think about, too….

LOVE this Donna! Simple and basic. And a great reminder as the holidays approach… it’s all about bringing Jesus into my world. Exxon!

Donna, you are an amazing woman of God and a great speaker. Thank you for coming to Indiana in the fall to bless all the women. :). I want to especially thank you for ministering to me personally!! I spoke with you after the q& a on Saturday about diciplining my children. Noah (13) and Katie (10). I was concerned because my husband and I have two different approaches to diciplining our children. Of the three items you advised me to follow the toughest was submitting to my husband even if I don’t agree with his method from a biblical perspective. Well, I will tell you God did not delay in giving me a chance to act upon your advice. Sunday evening I had to put it in action. My husband and i are able to work together on a situation which arose with Noah. We sat down today and wrote out guidelines and rules together!! Praise God he is at work!! Thanks again and God bless you!!

    • Wow! Isn’t God so good that He equipped you before going home to face a discipline issue? I’m so glad that my words helped shed insight on how to handle your situation. Yippee God!
