Real, real, love

Let me tell you about my romantic Valentines Day.

I woke up sick–for the third day in a row. It was such a pretty sight. 🙂 JP drove carpool to let me get a few more minutes of sleep.  This evening we opted to go out for dinner.  We were’t looking for a romantic date night, just an easy way to avoid cooking. I ordered soup; he got chicken parmesan.  He talked and I listened.  Not so much because I’m a good wife and he’s a husband that loves to share, but because my sore throat had taken it’s toll on my voice and I could barely speak.  We got home, changed into our jammies and were nestled on the couch by 7:30pm. (I’m such a party girl!)

There was no candlelight, romantic music or soft lights.  Just kleenex, cough drops and cold medicine.

He got me a card that said he would marry me all over again.

I got him one that said the same.

I’m typing this blog at 2:00 am because I was afraid my incessant coughing was keeping him awake.

Sometimes love shows itself in the most unexpected ways…..

“I take you

 for better or worse,

 in sickness and in health….”
