2021 certainly hasn’t started out like we anticipated. Not for any of us. This week’s events have left most of us emotionally on edge. Personally, our family has also been dealing with Covid. Every member of our family has it (except our daughter Kylie, who’s a vegan. We’ve decided her diet has given her super powers. Ha!).
Thankfully, our cases have been mild, and we are all well on our way to recovery. Still, our family’s situation reminds me of yours. Like us, you, no doubt, are contending with not only what’s going on in our world collectively, but you’re also dealing with what’s going on in your world personally.
It’s a lot to deal with sometimes.
The good news for the believer is that we do not face our hardships alone.
Let me repeat that, and personalize it, if only because we need the reminder:
You, sweet friend, do not face your hardship alone.
Breathe. God is with you.
God is with you in your confusion.
God is with you in your fear.
God is with you in your sorrow.
God is with you in your joy.
God is with you in your hurt.
God is with you in your healing.
God is with you in your pain.
God is with you in your sickness.
God is with you in your isolation.
And there will never come a time, a day, or even a moment, when He is not there, right by your side.
Are you clinging to Him? Are you running to Him in prayer? Do you search for Him in the pages of His Word?
He’s there.
This morning I woke early and turned the pages to my Bible to a favorite passage–one that brings me comfort in times of confusion. I thought maybe you’d like it, too.
Read and remember, He is here to help.
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5 God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
7 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
8 Come and see what the Lord has done,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields with fire.
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
11 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
You are seen, you are known, you are loved,
Donna
