Grumpy Me

By March 21, 2011One Comment

I had to put my purple bracelet back on. I got grumpy.

I’ve lost a receipt I desperately need, along with a shirt I can no longer return.  I made cookies for a charity event and ate way too much dough. My kitchen is a disaster–Ashton made cookies after I did. I have several talks I have to prepare this week.  And my father-in-law’s funeral is Wednesday.

We got a new home computer, which we desperately needed, but the font is so darn small I can barely see to read or write.  Side note:  if you receive any kind of written communication from me with typos and misspellings, I’m not stupid.  Just blind. Plus, I lost all my old email addresses.  Another side note:  if are supposed to receive an email from me and don’t, you’ll know why.

But really, isn’t this simply the stuff life is made of?

You have your own list of things that stress you out, send you into to overload, and test your patience. We all do.

Which is why we need something outside ourselves to direct our emotional ups and downs.  We need God’s word.

I don’t need to search the scriptures for how I am supposed to respond to the dirty dishes now overflowing in my sink, or the missing receipt, or the stress of an upcoming week.  What I need to do is found in Philippians 2:14–Do all things without grumbling or complaining. I just need a little help applying it.

So the purple bracelet is back on my wrist.  Third side note: if you have no idea what I am talking about read my earlier blog.  You’ll like it.  And if you don’t, please don’t complain.

I’m starting to think I look good in purple. 🙂

I sure do like you!!! I like everybody else too…but the way you share how God is working in your life is like a breath of fresh AIR (in a sometimes stuffy world). I misplaced my purple bracelet, and then out of the clear blue sky a friend of mine gave me her extra one! I was like, “Okay Lord…I get it, lol.” It’s a great reminder to not lose my composure (and joy) when life throws me a curve ball, “This too shall pass.” By golly, God’s got a good plan, and everything that happens in my life is part of it!!! I have to remember what’s true when I go through the frustrating, confusing, scary and painful parts of life. God is NEAR, He’s in control, and He loves me, so what is there really to complain about?!?!
